Acura TL Suspension

The TL model consists a racing inspired double wishbone front suspension system. The lower and upper control arms give the driver a superb linear steering feel by providing precise wheel position control.

The design is made such that it will minimize the body movement during acceleration and braking and when the wheel points inward. To control the body roll a 27.2mm stabilizer is kept and to isolate noise for a quieter ride the overall system is mounted on an aluminum alloy sub frame.

A multilink design is used by rear suspension which enhances all the performances of the double wishbone setup and also helps during braking for deter rear end lifting. The tires point inward when the suspension is compressed at the time of bumping and hard comering or braking to increase stability as it is done in the front suspension.

The system is formed of light weighted forged aluminum to reduce inertia for smoother reaction and quicker responses. An 18.3mm stabilizer bar to decrease body roll and to reduce ride motion gas filled dampers are mounted and overall system is mounted on an aluminum alloy sub frame to isolate road noise.

Acura gave the Type-S suspension tuning system to match its additional horsepower. It combines the design of front double wishbone system and rear multilink suspension design as well as front and rear stabilizer bars of larger diameters are installed.
