Acura RSX Structure

The body structure of RSX is designed in such manner so that it provides sufficient protection for the person in an impact. The unit body safety cells in the RSX body are door beams and a stout floor crossmember. These are designed to remain rigid and protect person inside the car from side impacts.

The front and rear crumble zones are created to change the shape in a controlled manner in the event of front or rear impact. In that event it disperse the impact energy and let the RSX compartment to keep much of it's structural integrity.

The RSX is manufactured to absorb and disperse the impact energy from front, rear or either side. The front and rear crumble zones and a unit body safety cell are the three basic components which play important role.

Seat belts usage and supplemented airbag system were combined together the passenger is better able to reduce the speed in controlled manner and injuries are also reduced. The RSX gained an NHTSA 5-star rating for its full frontal impact protection.
