Acura RSX Design
The weighted body structure affects the high performance of vehicle. Because of that RSX's and Type-S's body is built with advanced weight reducing materials. The engine covers and front seat frames were built with lightweight material such as magnesium.
Other body components such as the hood, the lid of trunk and its frame, front fenders are made up of aluminum. Use of high-tensile steel for the other areas of body enhances strength by minimizing its overall weight. Use of special lightweight material in the roof lining and carpet and felt as well as urethane foam dash insulator help to reduce excess road noise and vibration.
A special door-trim seal reduces the high frequency road noise and an anti vibration melt sheet around the front floor, mid floor and rear floors of RSX body expands the application area. Also the dimples in the base of the outside mirrors brake up air flowing over the side window to reduce wind noise.
RSX seats are designed like sporty bucket seats with integrated head tress. To keep grounded the front seats have bottom cushion and a firm back. Also the adjustable lumbar support at the back of driver's seat allows you to conform your posture preference. Substantial seat bolsters hug you to keep you in centered position.
