Acura RDX Structure

Acura's body structure provides class leading rigidity for an incredibly precise balance of ride and handling. The extensive use of high-tensile steel-which is lighter, stiffer and more expensive than conventional structural steel-can be found around the doorframes and floor pan. The material also helps lower the vehicle's center of gravity for increased cornering ability.

Because of its safety feature it was rated as 5 stars on the NHTSA frontal and side impact crash tests. For beginners purpose there is Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) body structure used to protect cabin in case of frontal collision.

Side impact beams are featured on all doors of the Acura RDX as well as to provide impact protection the rear structure is designed to meet new rear impact standards. The special feature pedestrians are built into the hood and the surrounding areas of the body to reduce the impact on a human body.
