Acura NSX Introduction

Honda NSX is also called as Acura NSX in North America and Hong Kong. The long form of NSX is New Sportscar eXperimental. It is a sports car and produced by Japanese automaker Honda between 1950 and 2005. It was first time introduced as NS-X in February 1989 at Chicago Auto Show and in October 1989 at Tokyo Motor Show.

Initially the internal Honda sources say X in NSX stood unknown in the codename but it was used in development. The Acura NSX super car stood as an example for its precision crafted performance. High performance always lies at the heart of every Acura vehicle. NSX integrate its world class performance with its exceptional drivability and refinement style by setting benchmark for its technology used.

As a first production car NSX has certain features like body and suspension, light weighted all aluminum chassis, etc. The suspension is a double wishbone suspension mounted on both the ends of aluminum subframe. It has standard V6 engine mounted on midship having Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control (VTEC) system, titanium connecting rods and six individual coils. It was the first model having VTEC inside the engine outside of Japan.

From 1991 to 2005 there are various models of NSX were produced. In 1997 Japan received the new models of NSX Type S and Type S zero with shift suspension technology. In 2002 a second iteration model of NSX i.e. NSX Type R was produced in Japan. It has certain new features such as fixed headlights and xenon HID headlamps, larger wheels and tires. Also this model is available in various color combinations.

Later, a quicker and more responsive model of NSX called NSX-R GT was released. The model is manufactured to help Honda Super GT. It has lower and widen body, and more aggressive aerodynamic components.
