To make the new MDX a driver's SUV Acura benchmarked the dynamics and driving feel of its strongest European competitors and tested it on Germany's Nurburgring-Europe's most demanding road course.

A lightweight, yet rigid body structure allows the fully independent front and rear suspensions to be finely tuned without encountering body-flex interference, and the steering and braking systems were designed to enhance both precision and confidence. Off pavement, the MDX SH-AWD system is combined with high approach and departure angles to manage unstable terrain.

As part of the sport Package, the Active Damper System is a highly sophisticated suspension technology that continuously varies the stiffness of each individual shock, based on road conditions and driver activity.
