Acura MDX Introduction

The Acura MDX is produced by Japanese automaker Acura is a mid size luxury crossover SUV. The model is available in market since year 2001. It is the first crossover SUV which have third row seating arrangement. Honda of Canada Manufacturing Ltd. had built this model in Ontario, Alliston and Canada.

In the late of 2000 Acura MDX was introduced as the 2001 model based on the Isuzu Trooper by replacing the slow-selling US-only SLX. The Horizon was also based on the Trooper so in 1999, in Japan it filled a gap when the Honda Horizon was stopped permanently.

In the year of 2003 the MDX was brought in Japan market to sale. At that time MDX competes with Infiniti FX, Lexus RX, Volvo XC90, Mercedes-Benz M-Class and BMW X5. Acura MDX model is present since 2001 and it has modified models in every year from 2001 to 2007. All the Acura MDX model use 5 speed automatic transmission which is like a manual transmission.

In 2006 the New York International Auto Show introduced the new Acura MDX concept. The 2007 Acura MDX 's body redesign will feature a wider track and a longer wheelbase. Its suspension is tuned at Germany's Nurburgring race track and its engine is all-new and the most powerful in Acura's lineup. Also, the 2007 Acura MDX will finally be equipped with High Intensity Discharge (Xenon) lowbeam headlights.
