Acura Legend Introduction
Acura Legend is a luxurious and sporty veicle. It was sold as coupe as well as sedan from 1986 to 1995. Outside United States i.e. in Canada and some part of China it was sold as Honda Legend. I wasthe first vehicle which was sold under the nameplate of acura. It was the top-spec-sedan under Acura nameplate. But after 1996 it was replaced by Acura 3.5RL which was the rebadged version of 3rd generation Honda Legend.
In 1985 Honda introduced this model first time in Japan as their premier luxury model. In 1986 it was introduced as range topping model in North America. This first generation Legend is notable for nuber of technical innovations. This coupe was anufactured using computer aided design (CAD).
From year 1991 the second generation Acura legend model became available. This model is larger and looks like a streamlines automobile. Earlier models had either four speed automatic transmission or a five speed manual transmission. For 1994 model more changes were made. Sedan as well as coupe models received new revised trunk lids and front bumbers.
For the year 1987 the Legend coupe was Motor Trend's Import Car of the year. Also the coupe was Car and Driver magazine's Ten Best list for 1988 through 1990.
