Acura Integra Chassis
The chassis of Acura Integra got certain improvements in the form of support to the roof rail, rear wheel wells and other key areas. The chassis braces and performance rods were bolted in a place and added to the rear sub frame and rear trunk wall. The front strut tower bar was replaced by a stronger aluminum piece.
Wheels bearing span was increased by 10 mm to improve camber rigidity at rear side. The Type-R gained some new features such as body-colored rocker panels, a new functional rear wing, and special lightweight Type r wheels having 5 bolt hubs. A much larger set of disc brakes is under the front as well as back side wheels and the tires are Bridgestone RE010 summer tires.
The Type-R model provides a fully independent, 4 wheel double wishbone suspension system for the sporty handling. The Type-r model of Acura Integra was produced by taking its overall performance in mind. When it comes to braking, cornering and overall handling, some of the most strict racetrack testing is also held for the production automobile.
To deliver highly responsive handling characteristics the engineering team designed the Type R suspension system. It also provides excellent traction, reduced body roll, high quality feedback for driver, minimal under steer and high cornering limits. This was possible in Type R because of following:
- to lower the center of gravity the ride height of vehicle is reduced by 15 mm
- a firm ride and precise handling s offered by combining spring and shock
- larger disc brakes with refined ABS modulator
- increased body rigidity
- high-performance tires
